Principal's Message
Bokajan College was established on 05/09/1991 by a group of farsighted and committed youths and social-workers of the region.The College has completed 33 years of journey. We have come a long way and our stakeholders have struggled tirelessly to transform Bokajan College into a progressive, equal opportunity Institution that has today become the Vanguard of academic excellence, on one hand and liberal democratic traditions on the other. The college thrives on it and the eco-friendly campus located in the middle of Bokajan town enhances a spirit of co-existence which is conducive for holistic development of the students. The college is able to attract students from surrounding Hilly and rural areas of Karbi Anglong District and the Southern Part of the Golaghat district. They are mostly ‘first generation” learners and belong to socio- economically disadvantage communities. The college since its inception has been working towards the pursuit of knowledge and excellence.
Optimum transparency in faculty appointments, admission of students, upholding merit happens to be the foremost criterion. The work culture in the institution is self motivated. The disciplined atmosphere of the campus is coupled with freedom of thought and expression. The college is known across Assam for the outstanding student- teacher relationship which is the foundation of learning. The students of the college are motivated to usher paradigm change and be integral to a globally connected World and continuously emerge with new ideas to make a difference.
As a principal. I hope to extend the journey of our college to the path of greatness. It is my duty to ensure that for the students the college remains just as our founding fathers envisioned. I represent the diligent faculty and staff of our college whose sincerity and spirit make it what it
is.
I express my gratitude to the people of Bokajan, Well wishers, all the members of Governing body since inception, Public representatives, Government of Assam, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council,Diphu, Parents & Guardians of our students, Teachers associated with the College,Students, Social and Students organisations, Civil administration, Authorities of Assam University and AHSEC for their full support since beginning to run the affairs of the College successfully. Since 2012 KAAC,Diphu is providing financial Aid to the College.we are grateful towards Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council for allocating Fixed Salary to the staff of the College equivalent to the Salary of Tutor staff of Provincialised Colleges of Assam since 01/04/2022.The KAAC through its 12th Executive Committee meeting of the 13th Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Dated 06/02/2024 has declared Provincialisation of the College alongwith 9 other Colleges with effect from 01/04 /2024.We have new Plans and a Very Positive Vision for better and much more improved academic atmosphere in the College in the days to come.. We believe in " A goal without a plan is a dream"." Don't watch the Clock ; do what it does.Keep going "..
